26th February 2011
Windsurfing: Bracklesham & Hayling Island
Wind Direction: NW then W
Wind Stength: 10-18 knots
Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot swell
Air Temperature: 8
Sea Temperature: 6
Weather: sun, cloud, bit rainy
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Started off looking at Hayling Island about 7am, big nursh burgers on sand bar (high tide), then drove to Bracklesham Bay. Decided on going for a surf, waves were about 3 foot but not that clan. After catching waves, wind had increased a bit, so rigged the 5. and twin. Enough wind to float and ride and occasionally get planing. Due to lack of wind and power in waves, was hard to do much on them. Wind swung West, had a few more runs but gave up. Drove back to Hayling. Waves here were bit bigger then Bracks and really clean. Quickly rigged 5.8 again and walked up wind a bit. Out on the bar, the waves were sooooooooo clean and about chest high. Managed to plane a bit and even get a couple of jumps (though not enough to float in air!) Caught a couple, then wind swung NW and dropped. Wobbled in for most of it, then had to swim, managed to waterstart again and got back in.

All in all, quite a good day despite the lack of wind!
